At the recent Mid Sussex Scouts AGM long service awards were presented to members of the District totalling 204 years of service. Special mention must be made of our Co-Presidents, Alec Gaskin and Kenny Butler, who were both awarded Long Service Certificates for 60 years of service to Scouting.
One of Kenny’s original Cubs, who is now a District leader was also present at the meeting, Alec gave his favourite quote in thanks for the award : “There Are Big Ships and Small Ships. But The Best Ship Of All Is Friendship” which summed up his time in Scouting.
