District Commissioner

Mark Scholfield

Scouting for me has been a family affair since my wife and I and our three sons joined 7th Burgess Hill (St Andrews) Scout Group in 2015. Initially, I was an occasional helper, but got more and more involved becoming Group Secretary in 2017 whilst my wife became Group Treasurer and now our sons are all in Glacier ESU. This experience has opened my eyes as to just how much value Scouting can bring to the Young Persons and also just how hard everyone works to make it all possible.

Deputy District Commissioner

Mike Larcombe

Some of you will know me as District Badge Secretary but I have held a number of roles in Scouting since I first joined as an Assistant Beaver Scout Leader in 1983. These have included DC of Southdown District (now part of Mid Sussex), Group Scout Leader of both a Haywards Heath Group and a Burgess Hill Group, and a County Role as Media  Development Manager.  I am married to Margaret, District Appointments Secretary. I have enjoyed my Scouting roles, seeing young people grow over the years and look forward to seeing this continuing.

District Explorer Scout Commissioner (DESC)

Mark Hutchinson

I first started my scouting journey as a Duke of Edinburgh Award participant looking to complete my volunteering section so started as a leader at 8th Burgess Hill Cub pack. I made the move to Explorers as a leader at Greensands ESU where I have spent the last 6 years. I am excited to be taking on the new challenge of the role of DESC within the district. Outside of Scouting, I am a leader and trustee of a local DofE open centre as well as working towards a work-related degree

District Chair

Alan Dyke

At the recent AGM Alan was appointed to the role of District Chair to assist DC Mark Scholfield.
