Can you help make 2022 the year of the volunteer? With 14 Groups with Beavers, Cubs, and Scout, 5 Explorer Units, Scout Network, and a Young Leader Unit, that is almost 60 sections in the District. We have Leader in all these sections but always have spaces for more. As well as the ‘front line’ roles, there are lots of support roles in the groups – Treasurers, Group Chairs, Committee Members, all of whom provide the backbone to enable Scouting to take place.

We have waiting lists for young people to join the sections but cannot expand to provide Scouting for these young people. With more people working from home several days a week, or even permanently could you put the travelling time saved to good use helping in a group near you?

No experience of Scouting? Experience is not necessary, as training is available for the roles.

Can’t make every week? Job share is possible, indeed this is already taking place where we have a number of leaders in a section.

Some of the roles available are shown on our volunteer page or just email deputydc@midsussexdistrictscouts.com . Please take a look and think how you can help bring Scouting to the young people of the towns and villages of Mid Sussex.

On behalf of the young people of Mid Sussex, thank you for reading this and we hope you will contact us regarding a place in Scouting.
