Nights Away Notification Process

With the new system comes a new way to send in your NAN forms and risk assessments for Nights Away and also for applying for a Nights Away Permit.

All Nights Away Notifications are now to be done through the new system. The previous way of emailing over the NAN form is no longer accepted.

Nights Away Notification Process in New System:

When logged in, on the My membership screen scroll down and click on “Complete a nights away form’.

Complete the Event Information section, Event leadership information page and the Planning and Approvals section.

All mandatory fields are marked and the system won’t let you submit the form without them filled out.

You can save this at any point and come back to it before submitting.

A few points to note:
  • Please complete and submit the form at least a couple of weeks before the camp.
  • Once submitted for approval I can only make amendments to the Event information and event leadership sections. If something is missing from the risk assessment or a risk assessment is missing I will need to reject the form and it will need to be resubmitted.
Nights Away Permit Application (renewal or first application) in New System:

To apply or renew a permit when logged in, on the My membership screen scroll down and click on “Explore permits’. Click through the pages and find ‘Nights Away’ (it is on the last page).

Click on apply and complete the form out. When you apply you have to select a nights away advisor. Please make sure you have had a conversation with that assessor before selecting them so it does not come in as a surprise.

To renew your nights away permit, on the My membership page click on ‘Programme Support’ on the left hand menu. Then click on Permits / My Permits / My active Permits. Click on your permit and then go to Renew at the bottom.

Again you will need to select a nights away assessor to make the recommendation. Please include your log book when you come to renew your permit.

Please be aware that when you come to select an assessor you will see assessors from other districts and counties. The system is designed for that. To find your assessor you may need to go through to the next screen.
