TheAdventurous activities can be divided into two parts, those that require permits and those that require national governing body awards to run. The list below is split into the two categories.

Mid Sussex operates the permit scheme for Nights Away. A list of assessors can be found using the ‘My Membership’ scheme. For more information email activities@midsussexdistrictscouts.com . | Hillwalking is the movement on foot over hills and mountains. A permit isequired for all hillwalking activities that take place in Terrain One or Terrain Two. For more information email activities@midsussexdistrictscouts.com . | There are a wide variety of water activities. Click on the general link above for details on specific activities including canoeing and rafting. The District organises raft races every September. | Archery sessions are run in many groups. There is a regular archery session run at 1st Haywards Heath Scout Group. | Climbing, Abseiling and bouldering are popular activites run both by permit holders within the District and by external providers. | Although there are no Air scout greoups within Mid Sussex District there are opportunities for Air Activities available to all groups and all sections. | Whenever any activity, event or meeting is run within Scouts, it’s a requirement that an InTouch system is put in place. full details of the In Touch system are available from the link below.. |

Many groups offer air rifle shooting taking part in the district Rifle Shooting competition.
