A current first aid qualification is a requirement for all adults in Scouting dealing with young people

The normal requirement is a First Response course.  This can be delivered locally or on a ‘blended course’.

Local courses are held within Mid Sussex District or at other locations in West Sussex. Details of course availability can be found on the District Diary.

These courses are run either as a single (weekend) day or run over two weekday evenings.

The blended course consists of an online module followed by a practical session delivered locally The blended course must be completed before the practical session. Link to the online module E-learning First Aid module.

For anyone who has a First Aid at Work qualification or is required to have a First Aid qualification through their employment (e.g. Police or Fire and Rescue Service) should contact our local First Aid trainer to discuss any ‘missing learning’ to get the external course validated.
