This year’s Raft Races will be on Sunday 8th (Scouts) and 15th (Cubs) September 2023.
The First Sessions will be 10am with further sessions at 12:15pm and 2:30pm if demand requires it.
Cost to the groups of £8 a head
We may be able to take additional children on the day subject to space on the rafts.
Bookings will be on a first come basis and will only be confirmed when the full payment has been received!

More details about the Raft Races
We can run up to three sessions depending on demand. This should mean that we do not have to turn anyone away. I will fill sessions but you can express a preference!
The cost will be £8 per head.
Cub Rafts can have up to 8 cubs per Raft and Scouts up to 6 Scouts. Bookings will be on a first come basis and you can have more than one raft per group.
Please INITIALLY opt for either a 10am or 12:15pm start. The sessions will last two hours and everything will be provided.
The Children Must have:
Shoes to wear in the water – that will not come off
A complete change of clothes – wet suits are ideal on the water – Anticipate that all the children will get very wet and may end up in the water!
Glasses secured – for those that wear glasses!
Each group will be responsible for ensuring that they have parental consent for all the children in their care.
Each group will be responsible for obtaining health information and be responsible for their children throughout the event – apart from when they are on the water!
Each group is required to nominate an adult in charge of their group.
All equipment required to build the Rafts will be provided and no additions are permitted – NO GAFFA TAPE!!!!!!
All the children will be provided with life vests.
Leaders please bring a sharp penknife to help break down after the event.
As always I will need a team of competent adult canoeists on the water ( older children with appropriate canoe qualifications will be considered) so please ask around and put any volunteers in touch. Ideally we need them for both days.
